My yoga journey began without me even being aware. As a child of the theatre, much of my training involved yoga, but I was too young to know that was what all those sun salutations (Surya Namaskar) were. Skip ahead many years as I was preparing for natural childbirth. I wanted to utilize yoga breathing techniques (pranayama) instead of the Lamaze method and began to deepen my study of yoga. This ultimately led to my teacher training.
The past 20 years teaching and practicing has seen me through life’s highs and lows. I am a strong believer that yoga is for everybody and for every BODY. Based in the modern tradition of vinyasa yoga, my classes flow with options to increase or decrease effort. My focus is to guide with safe alignment practices so that everyone can practice with confidence and care. Our bodies are different from one day to the next. Each yoga practice is an opportunity to listen to and honor our bodies. Where are you today as you take your yoga journey?
Specialty areas of training include pre- and post-natal yoga; yoga for all ages, kids, and athletes; gentle and restorative practices; and yoga for healthy backs and pelvic floor strengthening.
