will feel uncomfortable in a yoga class or that they are not flexible enough to try yoga. However, yoga will improve your
flexibility and you do not need to be flexible to do it.

What is Yoga?
The word yoga means "union" in Sanskrit, the language of ancient India where yoga originated. The union occurring
between mind, body and spirit.

Is Yoga a Religion?
No! But a regular Yoga practice can enhance your religion and spirituality.

Do I Need a Mat?  What Should I Bring?
Grounded By Yoga & Wellness offers mats for you to use  for $2 rental fee. if you do not have one, as well as blocks,
straps and blankets, and would like your own, GBY sells at near wholesale prices.  We practice in bare feet – so there
are no special gym shoes needed.

Don't I Need To Get In Shape First?
No !  There is no better time than right now to begin your yoga practice.   Yoga is not a competitive sport.  Every student
attends classes for a variety of personal reasons and they are not there to watch or judge your practice.  In yoga,
physical fitness begins inside, at your core, and then radiates to your outer life in the form of other exercises, dietary
choices, etc.  Once we get our core beliefs and perceptions "in shape" the body naturally follows!
