This class is a great compliment to
your regular practice.
 At 92 degrees, muscles and connective tissue are at their peak
for stretching and lengthening. Expect to feel renewed and detoxified!  Note: this is
not
"Bikram Yoga".., I developed YogaMelt ~ allowing us to go beyond the same 26 poses.

Beyond beginners....This is a mixed level class of Level 1 &2. Asana
variations will be offered throughout the class. Student will have the option to
explore deeper asanas. Focuses on a wide variety of postures both gentle
and intermediate. This class helps students to develop breath awareness
and control while exploring at a moderate pace and
optional depth. Each
class will focus on a different posture or series of postures to help further
and explain one's yoga practice. 75 minutes.
Note: OPEN YOGA means class will unfold in the manner needed
dependant on the students attending.
(by permission of the instructor).Student will have at least 3 months regular practice in
Interdisciplinary Yoga at Grounded By Yoga as well as previous experience for a
minimum of 2 years. More challenging postures will be offered with the main focus on
experiencing stillness in postures held for much greater lengths. Instructor will be
assisting (when needed) at a more greater depth to help advance and deepen your
practice. Advanced pranayama will begin the class an we will conclude with a lengthy,
comforting  Savasana . 90 Minutes. This class is held at the Canandaigua Location and
limited to 10 students.
Advanced Posture &
Philosophy
One on one. Your guide has a lifetime of yoga and philosophy trainings since
the age of 11.  Sandy is dedicated to promoting
authentic yogic teachings
based on scriptural and oral transmission, as well as solid research, and to
bringing out their relevance at the present time.
Advanced postures are
explored with
mindfulness on where you are at with your body as it is. These
sessions can prepare the student to
deepen their knowledge and
relationship with yoga
a well as prepare for Interdisciplinary yoga teacher
trainings provided by our yoga school.  Sessions are 90 minutes,1 time per
week for a commitment of 12 weeks.

Partner Yoga is not a substitute for individual Yoga practice, it is an accelerated path to
experience directly the root principle of Yoga - union. To experience union, we relax into
the present moment and our individual presence. From this primary connection with
ourselves, we realize our essential sameness and unity with others. While suitable for
intimate partners, this practice allows everyone to explore interpersonal dynamics in
ways that nurture all of our relationships — making it a powerful tool for teachers and
counselors, friends,  parents and children, and all individuals seeking personal growth.

Pre-Enrollment required as we limit this to 10 couples and is an 11-week series ($350
per couple) based on 11 principles.
One opening for January - March 2012 sessions.

This class is a Mixed Level Yoga Class (Level 1 & 2)
An extra special focus on : HAMSTRINGS, HIPS & BALANCE !

As HUMANS we naturally have tight hips, hams and lack of focus. Add "extra tight" for
those who are athletic and/or muscular.
We will focus on long holds connected to
pranayama (breath) to lengthen these tight
areas and an extra focus on balance.

(This is not to be confused with the Yin Yoga long holds.......this 75 minute class will
simulate most classes at GBY, but with the specific intentions mentioned.)

Yoga with Intention
It is possible to mimic the outward
shell of a pose, with out learning
the inward communion with your
own body that turns the pose into
a joyous celebration of life.
Experience a vigorous, detoxifying class where breath leads movement, and movement
flows from one pose to another. “Jump in” the current and let the practice build breath by
breath. Focus on mindfulness,alignment and self-inquiry.
This class will be heated to a modest 85 degrees (not as hot as our YogaMELT
classes)....increase flexibility, feel detoxed and experience intense clarity throughout your
day.
